MSN's GAMEON took some time to speak to World Wide Executive of Music at EA/President Artwerk Music Group Steve Schnur about the new music age where video games are becoming increasingly important for an artists career.
Also they caught up with Bryn Bennett from Bang Camaro to get a bands side of the story too...
"Less than 10 years ago, videogames were barely on the music industry's radar as a medium for breaking new bands. But what used to be a basic buy-sell licensing relationship is today an ongoing series of groundbreaking co-marketing partnerships. Today, labels are launching artists's entire careers around their inclusion in a top-selling title like Madden or Need For Speed."

Golden Moments
Here's a look at some of the most memorable moments for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver:
Apolo Anton Ohno

I'll just get this off my chest up front. I'm a hater. Have been ever since the media hype machine started pumping up this superstar weeks prior to the 2002 Salt Lake games. I'm not even sure why, really. I think I was just tired of hearing his name ... over and over again. Perhaps it was the soul patch. Or was it the bandana? Maybe it's the fact that he only spells his first name with only one "l".
Now I'm just nitpicking.
Whatever the case, here he was again, eight years later, speeding around the ice and chasing history in one o...

Hello and welcome once again to PSR's blog! It's been an interesting start to the year and we've been busy as usual. We've spent most of January and February in our Coventry bunker writing new material for the new year and it has been interesting to try some new ideas. We're looking forward to getting out on the road and testing it out live soon.
Our main task this month, however, has been preparing for our next single release. We've been listening to various re-mixes we've had commissioned and deciding which, if any would work as a B-side.

We've had some positive results and it's been weird to hear our music de-constructed and re-formed as Drum 'n' Bass and House music! I think we've chose the best tracks and we'll definitely put them out on the single.
We've also just finished filming the video for the single which was a fantastic day. We worked with some very creative directors and the most beautiful model I've ever seen to make something t...

Well now, this has been a weird week in the gaming world, hasn't it? So much drama, when all we want to do is play games. It's enough to give a fellow the vapors!
Anyway, I myself don't have any drama to add to the mix this week, unless we want to talk about the rather extreme case of Helmet Hair I had the other day when I got to work, which, omigod, just totally stressed me out and almost made me had a meltdown in the men's room when I tried to comb it out. Okay so I just made that whole thing up. (OR DID I?) Work with me here....it's been kind of a slow week on MY end.
But today, friends---today is different! Why? Well, I will tell you. Today we have not one, not two, but THREE (3, trois, tres) game ann...

It's often said that if you want to work at a game company, designing games and whatnot, the best position to start with is as a game tester. The job requires little experience, and with enough luck and determination, it's possible to work your way up to your dreams. In fact, my first interviewee Nick Clifford started off as a QA Tester, and now he does Marketing at Bioware.
This week I'm talking with Senior QA Test Lead Raasahn Browder who leads "the QA team from the start of the project to the finish." And unlike what you would expect, he came to EA 5 years ago with an interest in testing, not in making games.

All and more below!
Anything you are looking forward to playing in 2010?

Definitely the MMA game coming from E.A.and also UFC undisputed 2010. It will be interesting to see which will be the better game. If Fable 3 does come out this year then that will be a big one. Might be worth checking out the Fifa world cup game too.

Check out the interview and listen to a couple of tracks that have been on various EA game soundtracks...
Interview is in Spanish!
FIFA 10 has been very successful in sales. In Spain has been one of the best-selling video game in 2009. Do you mind if people know you as "the group of the song in FIFA 10"?

For now thats fine. We hope to continue from here and eventually we will reach people in other ways but we know that Fifa will be the first time a lot of people - especially abroad - will have heard of our band and thats fine for us!

Happy Monday everyone! Well, okay, it's not happy for everyone. Because if you've been following the big gaming news today, then you already know that it's a rough day for both Sony and owners of non-slim PlayStation 3s, thanks to a bug in the console's internal clock that is causing error messages, the inability to log onto the PlayStation Network, and the general inability to play some games at all. USA! USA!
Next week I was hoping to reveal my favorite moments from the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. After all, it's all I've been watching for the past week or so, and I hardly exaggerate. I seem to have put my life on hold for these games and I still can't get enough of the action. Although I seem to be part of a dying breed, I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a gold medal junkie.
Ever since three of the four Olympic cauldrons were lit two Fridays ago I've been glued to the TV. I've been watching at home until midnight (or until I fall asleep on the couch), during lunch, and even on the road at 2:30 AM during a quick two-night trip to the east coast. Yes, 2:30 AM on back-to-back nights.

Tim Wilson is a Technical Fellow. What is a Technical Fellow you ask? Well Technical Fellows are part of an elite group (I'd like to think) whose job is to "look at new platforms and technologies that affect the future of EA's game development." That means he's one of the first to know about all the cool stuff gaming nerds like me scour the web for. Apple's iPad? Microsoft's Project Natal? That's old news. Nowadays, he's focusing on thin client gaming, which is coming in the near future. Learn more about that, and his thoughts about the future of gaming in this interview.
